The Republican Party of South Dakota hasn’t lost a statewide election since 2008. They have beaten Democrats in every campaign, even running for the 2010 U.S. Senate and House seats. American Institute of 2020.

Now it seems that they are so hungry for a good fight that they have chosen a few of them.

Governor Kristi Noem, who has scored high in the polls in her state, has never lost an election. She served four terms in Congress before being elected governor in 2018. The South Dakota Legislature has a supermajority in both houses, with Republicans holding 94 out of 105 seats. No Democrat holds office statewide.
