Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Tested Positive for COVID-19

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Sunday that she has tested positive for COVID, has symptoms and is recovering at home.

The brief statement posted on Twitter — along with a plea that everyone get booster shots — will certainly anger conservatives who last week took nude photos of her in Florida.

Right-wing writer Brendon Leslie immediately jumped to the announcement, noting that AOC was infected even though she was fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

“Their vaccination story is falling apart before our eyes,” Leslie tweeted.

Of course, public health officials have long said that vaccinations don’t prevent people from getting the coronavirus, especially The Omicron variant is highly infectious.

However, it seems to prevent severe illness in the majority of cases. Ocasio-Cortez received a boost in the fall.

“If Republicans get mad, they can’t date me, they can just say it instead of pouring their sexual frustrations on my boyfriend’s feet. Ya scary weirdos,” she wrote.

“It begins to age when it comes to ignoring the very obvious, weird, and deviant sexual frustrations that underlie the Republican fixation on me, women, and LGBT+ people in general.

“These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it and instead use politics as their outlet. It’s really weird.”

Three dozen members of Congress have tested positive for COVID since the summer.
