Reporter Tori Yorgey receives a live car hit online, come back to broadcast

A television reporter in West Virginia was hit by a car live on air during a mundane television broadcast of a water break.

WSAZ-TV’s Tori Yorgey was looking directly into the camera when viewers could see a pair of headlights approaching behind her. She was then literally knocked off camera when the car hit her from behind, and viewers could only hear a horrified exclamation of “Oh! Oh my gosh!” before she announced from the camera “I just got hit by a car!”

Still out of sight, Yorgey then quickly reassured his colleague, “I’m fine. We are all good. ”

“You know, that’s live TV for you. I was actually hit by a car at university, you know, like that,” she said, as concerned bystanders could overhear asking if she was hurt.

“I’m so glad I’m okay,” she said, before telling herself, “You’re okay, you’re okay, we’re all fine.”

A visibly shaken Yorgey then reappears in front of the camera, quipping that she should have known the incident “was going to be special to me” during her last week on the job.
