For the first time since 2016, Red hot chili releasing a new album, Unlimited love on April 1st.
While that may sound like an April Fool’s joke, as far as everyone knows, this is real. Unlimited love will be their first album with guitarist John Frusciante since 2006 and their first album with producer Rick Rubin since 2011.
“Our only goal is to get into the music. We (John, Anthony, Chad and Flea) spent thousands of hours, collectively and individually, honing our skills and performing for each other, to create the best album we could,” the members said. Band members Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and John Frusciante said in a statement released alongside the album’s tracklist. “We aspire to shine in the world, lift spirits, connect and bring people together. Every song on the new album UNLIMITED LOVE is an aspect of us, a reflection of our view of the universe. This record is the trip that sums up our lives. ”
“When we started documenting together, we started playing old songs by the likes of Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Kinks, the New York Dolls, Richard Barrett, and others. So little by little, we started coming up with new ideas, and turning parodies into songs, and after a few months, all we were playing was new stuff,” Frusciante said in the statement. . “The sense of ease of joy we get from playing other people’s songs has stayed with us for as long as we have written. To me, this record represents our love and faith for each other. “
