While Xbox backward compatibility allowing users to play RDR with some graphical enhancements, we are all ready to see the original brought to the same standard as the critically acclaimed RDR2 with a complete remake.

When will we see the release date of the Red Dead Redemption remake?

As of now, there is no official release date for the Red Dead Redemption remake. Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed that they’re working on a game, and we don’t expect to see one in the near future. There have been rumors of a remake of Red Dead Redemption since before the second game in the series launched, but nothing substantial about them.

The most important proof in favor of a possible Red Dead Redemption remake is the fact that the entire map is in RDR2. Mexico is not reachable by conventional means, but settlements from the United States are there, although Arthur cannot visit them, and the player has very little to do there with John in the epilogue. It is assumed that these assets will be used to create an RDR remake, even if it is just an asset that transfers the content from the first installment into the upgraded engine.

Likely one of three things happened:

• The RDR remake is in production and nothing major has leaked.
• An RDR remake is in production but canceled just like the single-player DLC for GTAV.
• There has never been an RDR remake in the works.

Out of the three, we bet on the number two as the most likely to happen. Our bet is that the developers have begun preliminary work on a separate RDR DLC or game remake in production on RDR2. We imagine that the departure of key personnel and the increased focus on GTA Online led to its cancellation.

On what platforms will RDR remake?

We imagine that it will be a transgenerational title if it is created. It will likely come with a current generation upgrade to RDR2. If it’s in the works, we imagine we’ll see it sometime after the release of the current generation GTA V upgrade.
