Rajya Sabha passes Inland Vessels bill in RS amid din

The federal government rushed by means of passage of the Inland Vessels Invoice, 2021, within the Rajya Sabha on Monday amid opposition protests over authorities refusal to carry a debate on ‘use of spy ware Pegasus’.

At 2 pm, the Home took up the Inland Vessels Invoice, 2021, for dialogue and passage. The invoice, moved by transport minister Sarbanand Sonowal, was mentioned amid the protests. Shakti Sinh Gohil (Congress) laid his speech on the desk of the Home in assist of the protest. Mahesh Poddar (BJP), Prasanna Acharya (BJD), Banda Prakash (TRS), M Thambidurai (AIADMK), AR Reddy (YSRCP) spoke in favour of the invoice, which was handed by the Lok Sabha on July 29.
