Radicals Remember Harry Reid – The Washington Post

Reid, Shakir said, fought fiercely to make the choice to go public to be included in the ACA and wanted to get it done, but he didn’t have the votes for it. He also pioneered clean energy policies, making Nevada one of the leading states in solar energy. Shakir says he understands climate change from a populist perspective and is aware that it “will impact the most disadvantaged populations, often those who are not being noticed by anyone”. And Reid, Shakir notes, fought “against any trade deal,” because he understood it was “an attempt that would hurt working-class jobs in this country.”
