R. Kelly’s attorneys want to be removed from his federal sex trafficking case

Look same R kelly will need to find a new lawyer! Lawyer Steve Greenberg and Michael Leonard filed a request to be removed from the singer’s federal criminal case in Chicago. Rumors began to surface last week that both Greenberg and Leonard had filed to withdraw from the lawsuit. Greenberg confirmed the rumors as true on Friday (January 14). Reportedly, two attorneys also asked to withdraw from Kelly’s lawsuit in New York in June. Greenberg told CNN at the time that he felt that Kelly,

“Insistence that we work with people we feel will not be as effective as advice.”

R kelly now behind bars is awaiting trial in the Chicago case, where he faces child pornography and obstruction of justice charges for paying false money and threatening witnesses to cover up his crimes.

In September, R kelly was convicted in a separate New York sex crime and fraud trial, in which a jury found him on nine counts. Kelly was charged with fraud. Although it was just a number, it listed 14 basic acts including kidnapping, forced labor, sex trafficking and bribery. He was also charged with eight counts of violating the Mann Act, making it illegal to transport anyone across state lines for any immoral purpose.

The Chicago federal lawsuit is still pending. Lawyer Steve Greenberg and Michael Leonard Both declined to comment further on their withdrawal from the lawsuit.
