The Comptroller of Quebec releases today its review of the Treasury Secretary’s primary report on the province’s finances.

Guylaine Leclerc is to check the plausibility of financial projections, estimates and assumptions made ahead of October’s provincial elections.

Treasury Secretary Eric Girard will deliver his pre-election financial report later today after Leclerc releases their assessment.

The purpose of Leclerc’s review is to ensure that the party that wins the Oct. 3 election cannot say they will be caught off guard by an unexpected deficit or surplus after taking office.

Their report also gives all political parties the same framework to work with when creating paid voting platforms.

Leclerc is scheduled to speak to reporters at 10am and Girard’s press conference is scheduled about an hour later.
