Puppey wants to keep Team Secret’s TI10 roster

Team Secret’s captain, Clement”Puppey“Ivanov, provided some interesting insight into the team’s recent roster changes in an interview with DreamLeague following Team Secret’s win over Alliance on December 4, 2021. Puppey said that he wants to play with the same team from TI10 till the end but this is not possible as it is his “last best choice” while some other team members have options Team Secret saw the departure of longtime member Ludwig “zay” Wåhlberg and Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen after finishing in third place at The International 10 (TI10). Additionally, Puppey discussed the current situation of the team after adding two experienced players to his roster.

Puppey gives his opinion on Team Secret’s recent roster shuffle

Puppey was called for a post-match interview following Team Secret’s win over Alliance in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22. The details of post-TI roster changes are often a mystery to outsiders, but Puppey provided some interesting insights into his team’s transition. To cover other teammates’ interests after TI10, Puppey mentioned MATUMBAMAN, who recently pointed out that after TI10 ended, he didn’t feel like a part of Team Secret.

While Puppey wanted to play with the same lineup, he mentioned, “The second TI is over, things start to happen and you know, one person starts leaving, you can retire, you know maybe I’m even losing my mid laner. All of that is out there. “

He also gave his opinion on the changes in the squad in general. According to him, shuffling the list is “quite toxic.” It is difficult to reach people who intend to shuffle the list because it also reflects a loss of trust, he said. Puppey said this year has been especially difficult due to the current global environment, where it is difficult to meet and chat, and everything related to the changes to this list must be announced virtual.

Puppey discusses Team Secret’s current state

With the departure of zai and MATUMBAMAN, Team Secret welcomes two equally experienced players, Syed Sumail. “SumaiL” Hassan and Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang into his Dota 2 roster. As a result, the team was expected to continue to be a dominant force in Western Europe, but the debut did not go as expected. In a match against a new and young OG team, Team Secret looked weak and uncoordinated.

Puppey also shared his thoughts on the series, pointing out that the defeat was not only the result of poor performance but also OG’s superior play.

“I have to say, very appalled (OG’s play) and caught off guard. But this state of affairs could obviously change for both teams. I can’t really predict the future because I don’t really know what could happen but I’ll tell you, in that game, they were terrifying. Their map migration, draft understanding is really scary and ours is garbage. So you see we’re picking Pudges, you know, stuff like that running around, doing absolutely nothing, Winter Wyverns offlane. So you can see we’re not in our groove, we don’t know exactly what’s going on to make ourselves win but we’re on the right track. ”

Team Secret was able to return for the second series in the DPC 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 against Alliance, winning 2-0. However, Puppey admits that the team will need to work more before playing at their best. Among the reasons he cites for his team not performing to its full potential is that all of the players in Team Secret have high reputations and they are anxious not to lose against each other.

“We definitely need more time and it’s difficult because right now we have a team full of guys who are known to play well and have been around for a million years. So maybe you know, a little nervous, don’t fail at every kind of thing going on. But overall, I think time will solve all problems and I think this win is very good for us. It will give us some strength and we will try to stay positive even though the matches are tough and the meta is changing pretty quickly but regardless this is good and moving forward will be good. ”

As the league continues, Puppey and Team Secret hope to improve and Tundra Esports, one of the top contenders, awaits them on December 11, 2021 in the next series.
