PUBG Mobile is sponsoring cricket franchise in Pakistan

PUBG Mobile is sponsoring the Lahore Qalandars cricket franchise, the competition in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), according to a Official tweet from yesterday.

As part of this sponsorship, fans of the cricket franchise will have the opportunity to receive some “exclusive” in-game items. It has yet to be revealed what exactly is.

A spokesman for Lahore Qalandars described the funding as a “strategic long-term partnership” in a press conference. He added it will be used for advertising PUBG Mobile and adds significantly to the existing player base of around 15 million in the country. It will also focus on promoting healthy competition in eSports.

PSL is a franchised cricket tournament run by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Lahore Qalandars are one of six teams in the league. The 2022 season will run from January 27 to February 27.

Cricket is a hugely popular sport in Pakistan and sponsoring a franchise in PSL will allow PUBG Mobile to connect directly with a large audience. In addition, PSL also has a number of foreign players, attracting fans from all over the world.
