PUBG Mobile grossed over $244 million in December 2021

PUBG Mobile has maintained its position at the top of the total mobile game revenue rankings by Sensor Tower in December 2021. The mobile battle royale title generated over $244 million in the last month of the year, representing a growth of 36.7% year over year.
The majority of the game’s revenue, about 68.3% to be exact, comes from China. In the Asian country, the game has been localized as Peacekeeper Elite (also known as Game for Peace). It’s the same as the original PUBG but in line with China’s strict gaming regulatory policies.
The US ranks second in player spending with 6.8%, while Turkey accounts for around 5.5% of the total.
The Sensor Tower only tracks data from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store, meaning the actual number could be higher. Google Play is not available in China, Android users in the country rely on third-party app stores.
MiHoYo’s role-playing action game The Genshin effect ranked second on the chart with $134 million in revenue. About 28% of these are from China and 23.4% are from the US
Other games in the top five include Roblox, Coin Master, and Honor of the Kings. The hugely popular battle royale game by Garena Garena’s Mobile Survival Game ranked seventh in the rankings. However, it was the second highest-grossing title on the Google Play Store in December.
