PUBG will release for free on January 12, 2022. The change will affect all versions of the game, from PC to PlayStation and Xbox.

PUBG Corp’s team hasn’t completely eliminated the paying option for those who want it. Once the game becomes F2P, the studio will launch Battlegrounds Plus, a premium upgrade that offers various exclusive features and cosmetics.

Even better, to reward dedicated fans, PUBG Corp will be offering all players who have previously purchased PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds a special PUBG Anniversary Pack. Among other bonuses, the Special Anniversary Pack includes an upgrade to Battlegrounds Plus. A set of Battle-Hardened skins and legacy nameplates are also included in the deal.

The PUBG team is making a big push for this free-to-play transition. ONE New pre-registration site has been opened, offering a chance to earn limited-time in-game items. There’s a bonus for inviting new players and even a special quiz to earn special rewards between now and January 11, 2022.
