PS5 DualSense Get three new color variants, including pink and purple

Sony is expanding galaxy-themed color options for its controllers, adding three new colors to its PS5 DualSense products.

Cosmic DualSense colors

As appreciated as they once were, the offering of different colors for the PS5 DualSense controller has been sorely lacking since its release. That looks to be changing, as Sony has finally announced that the critically acclaimed PS5 DualSense controller will come in three new colors. PlayStation is now starting to roll out DualSense color options a year after the PS5’s release and eight months after its first new colors became available.

The PS5 DualSense colors stick to the space-themed naming convention, adding “Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple” above the fold. These flashy new colors will join the Cosmic Red and Midnight Black products released in early 2021. These new colors now bring the DualSense controller’s six color options, including white. basic.

According to PlayStation, these new colors will be released in January 2022 and cost $74.99, which is slightly higher than the standard price of the PS5 DualSense. These new colors match the PS5 case that was announced in the same PlayStation Blog post. The controllers will be released through “participating retailers” as well as PlayStation Direct. A specific release date is yet to be determined.

This controller has gained popularity among gamers since its announcement thanks to its haptic feedback system that gives players an extra dimension of immersion in the games they play with DualSense support. It has received critical acclaim from many game industry figures, from first-party studios, third-party contributors, to Xbox’s Phil Spencer.

Those are still early days for PlayStation 5 and DualSense controllers. Even so, fans are still clamoring for more color availability and customization while Sony is cautious in timing their product’s release. Sony fans reverted to creating their own custom controllers temporary, with some unique and innovative results. There have also been a lot of options that don’t want DualSense and prefer controller options from other sources. Third-party peripheral makers Scuf just released their colorful but expensive line of PS5 controllers as an alternative to DualSense.

Sony is finally comfortable adding new colors to its controller lineup. It’s impossible not to feel like Sony is on the trail after having more color options for its controllers as Xbox has provided not only a kaleidoscope of new colors for the Xbox Series X/S controllers but still full Design Lab allows players to create their own custom controllers. It might not be Sony’s game, and it’s content with strategy with galactic-themed colors.
