PS Plus has won almost $1,500 worth of free games in 2021
PlayStation offers free games every month, with some titles worth more than others, and 2021’s free service nearing a $1,500 value.
Players across different platforms have received a large amount of freebies throughout 2021 from Xbox Gold Games to Epic Games Store weekly offerings. One PlayStation fan noted that PlayStation Plus gave away nearly $1,500 worth of free games for 2021 alone.
Reddit user Turbostrider27 recently posted a picture of all the freebies from PlayStation Plus in 2021. The list includes popular services like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Day by day, Shell of death, and Oddworld: Soulstorm along with smaller freeware like Concrete Genie, Hell to loose, Overcooked: All You Can Eat, and Deeply trapped. In total, all games offered through PS Plus In 2021 are worth $1,430.
Other titles offered through PS Plus in 2021 include A Plague Tale: Innocence, Battlefield 5, Control: Ultimate Edition, Farpoint, Covetous, God come down, Hitman 2, The man eats, Remnants: From the ashes, and Wreckfest. The free PS Plus titles throughout 2021 cover several genres, and the list includes single-player and multiplayer games. The wide range of free games offered each month through PlayStation Plus ensures that subscribers to each game will have countless hours of free content to explore.
Turbostrider27 charged the full price of each title to reach $1,430, but many of these games are sold during annual events like Black Friday and Gift Day. Another Reddit user noted that the more precise cost of games that factor in recent sales data brings the PS Plus service down to $650. While this is a significant change from Turbostrider27, the value is still substantial for each free game that PlayStation fans don’t already own.
Because some PlayStation fans note that they already have a lot of this PlayStation Plus freeware, the value of the free games still largely depends on who gets them. PS Plus Subscribers who haven’t bought a game in 2021 have received a large selection of games for a low cost, while players who own all of the offers aren’t seeing the benefits of the subscription service this year. Most PlayStation fans fall into the middle of nowhere as they already own a few PS Plus freebies but can still see some new games thanks to the services offered each month.
Compared to previous years, the PS Plus has offered an improved value in 2021, with 2020’s offerings at around $488 at sale valuation. While the value of the games on offer in 2021 has increased, some PlayStation fans who reacted to Turbostrider27 were disappointed by the PS Plus of the year. In spite of Xbox games with gold provide the same free software as PlayStation Plus, Turbostrider27 has not yet aggregated the value of 2021 services.
