Project L League of Legends explained by Riot Games at Arcane Finale

On November 21, Riot published a development update and vertical slice to its fighting game announced in 2019, now named Project L anth feature League of Legends characters, here’s what we’ve learned.

Riot just revealed a vertical slice for LOTS project. Generally within the gaming and development industry, a vertical slice is a high value montage that shows A to Z what a game is all about in a simple way. So investors who don’t know much about the game will throw money at the developers so they actually make games. In other words, what we’re seeing here isn’t really playable games.

As Tom Cannon, senior director and executive producer for LOTS project speak, do not believe the game is over, they still have a long way to go. LOTS project developed by the team that used to work Thunder is rising. It’s a brand new project in progress.

Tom Cannon shared the earliest estimate for the release of 2023 LOTS project. We’ll hear more about the match in the early second half of 2022.

As you can see, the game will use a card pool or assist system where you can call your teammates for a prolonged combo or switch to them. It is very similar to Marvel Vs Capcom 2 to take a common example or to Umineko no Naku Koro ni Ougon Musou Kyouku Cross for a suitable example.

Judging from the vertical slice, LOTS project there are some typical mechanics found in 2D Japanese fighting games. Of course there are guards and normal jumps, but can also dash or something like moving EX. Check out the footage for yourself right below:

Riot also plans to use its expertise in the field of online gaming from Valuable substance and League Legendary for net code in LOTS project.
