Pokémon Legends: Arceus leak reveals potential special items for Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Arceus

Pokémon Legend: Arceus is doing a lot to set it apart from other entries in the main series, including overhauling the combat system, removing hold items, and reworking the way stats work at the base level. And with the first copies of the game data-mined, we have details on several new items that will be directly related to some prominent Legendary Pokémon.

Just given the nature of Arceus in the title, we know that The Original One and its associated Legendary Pokémon will be the main plot point of the game. Previous leaks have revealed what appears to be New form of “Lord” for both Dialga and Palkia, while Giratina is listed as a boss later in the game that will appear on the team of the powerful NPC trainer. With the new data, we now know that there are new entries associated with each Creative Trilogy.

New versions of the Adamant, Lustrous, and Griseous Orbs have been discovered in the game’s files, each of which can be used to change the shape of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. Here are the specifics for each type:

  • Adamant crystal
    • When used on Dialga, this large, glowing orb gains power and allows Pokémon to change shape.
  • Lustrous Globe
    • When used on Palkia, this large, glowing orb gains power and allows the Pokémon to change shape.
  • Griseous Core
    • When used on Giratina, this large, glowing orb gains power and allows the Pokémon to change shape.

Additionally, while there is no confirmation of any new forms for Arceus in any of the leaks, data for all existing Plates, changing Arceus’ type, has been discovered. There are also two new Plates that have been created specifically for this game.

Since the Item held is not a thing, the Empty Plate is apparently used to reset the Arceus back to its Normal form since you can’t just remove the other Plates manually anymore. But there is still a mystery as to what the Legendary Plate does.

According to the data, the Legend Plate “impregnates the essence of all creation” and can give a given Pokémon “the power of every kind therein.”

Apparently “some of the Pokémon” it refers to are Arceus, but we still don’t know exactly what this will do. No new form has been shown, but perhaps this will give Arceus a buff.

We won’t know what Legend Plate does until Arceus was released on January 28, but the various possibilities will keep fans speculating before the game’s release.
