As part of Pokemon GO Fests In Ultra Unlock Challenge, players gain the right to fight and compete for a chance to get a Shiny Dialga.
This is the first time Pokemon is temporarily available in Shiny form in Pokemon GO and, along with the fact that it’s so good in leader of clan, it is likely that the demand for it will be high.
Thankfully, Pokemon will be available for a while, arriving on July 23 and leaving a few weeks later on August 6.
However, to help you on your journey, here’s our Shiny Dialga Raid Guide, covering both weak points and best fixes, as well as your odds of encountering a monster shiny.
Shiny Dialga details and proportions
Shiny Dialga is one of the few Legendary Pokemon to actually undergo a complete color overhaul.
It changes from the blue we are used to seeing to a shade much closer to green/turquoise. You can check out the embedded post from Reddit below to see the difference.
As for your odds of catching a shiny Dialga, they range from 1 in 20 to 1 in 25. This is a much improved odds of 1 in 500 that most Pokemon have.
As a Dragon and Steel-type Pokemon, Dialga has a number of different weaknesses that can be exploited within Pokemon GO.
The two types of Pokemon that you should bring to Dialga Raids are Fighting and Ground, both of which have loads of good options.
Dialga Raid Guide and the best counters
To comfortably defeat Dialga, you’ll want to fight it at least four coaches with the combination of the below Pokemon in high level. Just keep in mind that the more you bring, the faster you’ll knock it down and the more Premier Balls you’ll earn.
With that said, Dialga’s weakness for Battle and Ground moves is that it can be exploited.
If you’re looking to bring a Mega Pokemon, Mega Lopunny is your only real choice since it’s part of the Combat Type, thus giving a boost to the other Combat Type hits.
Along with Mega Lopunny, there is a great range of Combat style options. These include Lucario, Conkeldurr, Machamps and Hariyama.
If you can’t fill your party with those, it’s a Ground-type Pokemon. Your best options here include Groudon, Excadrill, Landorus and Rhyperior.
The best move sets for each of these Pokemon can be found below:
- Mega Lopunny – Low Kick / Focus Blast
- Lucario – Counter / Aura Sphere
- Conkeldurr – Counter / Dynamic Punch
- Machamp – Counter / Dynamic Punch
- Hariyama – Counter / Dynamic Punch
- Groudon – Mud Shooting / Earthquake
- Excadrill – Slapping mud / Earthquake
