The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including Game Design Special Research, lore, and even a possible twist to shift some of the game’s focus back towards encouraging exercise and more direct, social activities. Seasonal duration studies compared to many shorter specific studies

The Naughty season and Season of Heritage are taking very different approaches when it comes to Special Studies and that seems like a very deliberate choice. While there’s a lot to like about the Giant Naughty Season research approach, it’s clear that some of the responses are directed at shorter connection strings instead.

In Naughty Season, we also tested the season-long Special Research story for the first time. We felt this was a great way to convey the Hoopa-focused story of the Season and also provide our Trainers with fun and exciting ways to play throughout the Season. However, we’ve learned a lot along the way, and we’re working hard to make the long-running Special Research story in the sequel even better! In the meantime, however, we’re trying a different approach with the Legacy Section, focusing more on rotating monthly timed Research quests and rewards throughout the Season.

More Lore and story in future parts

So far, the legend has come Pokemon GO in some form. Typically, the story is tied to time-limited events and is conveyed through Timing Research or Special Research. It sounds like that will remain the plan for the future, but the theme of each installment will likely help determine what stories are actually being told.

As Seasons continues to expand and evolve in Pokémon GO, we look forward to continuing to build on the story of Pokémon GO to help support and enhance what Seasons means to Trainers.

Future part

Our team is excited to continue refining the concept of parts in Pokémon GO as we move into 2022! In the coming year, we want our seasonal themes and storylines to serve as the focal point for in-game events, social content, and more. Our goal is to make you truly feel like Seasons offers unique, meaningful changes to Pokémon GO.

The developer diary certainly gives interesting hints and it is clear that Sections will continue to promote content in Pokemon GO throughout the coming year. As the early 2022 seasons progress, it will be interesting to see what new features or other changes will appear in the game. Based on previous patterns, players can expect a new Season drop every three to four in-game months.

The community should learn more about this and other new features and activities during the early days of Heritage Season. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO Strategy guide, news and updates. Until then, good luck out there, coaches!
