Pokemon GO Adds Druddagon as part of Dragonspiral Descent event
The ongoing Season of Heritage will introduce Druddagon, the Dragon-type Pokemon to Pokemon GO along with its shiny variant.
Heritage Season in Pokemon GO will be hosting one of the first mini events of the season, the “Dragonspiral Descent” event that introduces a new Pokemon from the Unova region. Druddagon, a Dragon-type Pokemon will debut in Pokemon GO as well as its shiny variant.
As part of the ongoing story in Pokemon GOProfessor Willow discovered a mysterious historical portal during one of his expeditions. That gate has now been activated thanks to the efforts of the trainers in Swinub Insense Day. Dragonspiral Decent is the recall of Dragonspiral Tower from Black/white Pokemon game can find Reshiram or Zekrom.
These two Pokemon and their shiny variants are also included in the Five Star Raid in Pokemon GO During the event. Opening the historic portal causes a series of Fire, Electric, and Ice-type encounters in the game. The Druddagon can be obtained at the end of its associated Field Research Quest. Druddagon will also appear in 3-star raids.
The Dragonspiral Decent event will begin on December 7 at 10 a.m. local time and run until 8 p.m. on December 11 local time. Additional Pokemon that appear in increased numbers during the event include Seel, Vulpix, Sneasel, Dratini, Mareep, Bltizle, Trapinch, Deino, and Fire-type Darumaka. NS shiny variations for those Pokemon will also appear. Dragonair and Vibrava will also appear in increased numbers. A themed Collect Challenge event will take place, and players who catch all the required Pokemon will be rewarded with 1000 XP and 3000 Stardust. Mega Evolution of Steelix will also appear during the event.
Draddagon, as the name suggests, is a Dragon-type Pokemon. Its introduction to Pokemon GO Unova Pokedex follows a strategy that Niantic implemented this year. Instead of releasing them all at once as did for the first 2 regions, there are now theme-specific events around the release. Dedenne was recently released in Naughty season and this strategy turns it into a cash out event and playtime. Pokemon GO’s The Unova dex still has some room to fill but it has been filled over time.
This is a long list of Pokemon with increased spawn numbers for the event, but as of writing, there are no sources indicating an increased find rate of shinies. Players will have to hope that the odds increase with the spawn rate increase, or go back to using incense to attract a larger number of Pokemon.
