Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: Earthquake TM Location

Here’s how Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players can get their hands on TM26 Earthquake in the remake.

As of the fifth generation of Pokemon, the TM (engineering machine) is unbreakable and can be used multiple times. In Pokemon Sword/Shield, some TMs have been changed to TR (engineering profiles) and can be purchased with Watts. With Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearls, TM make returns, but they can again be broken. This provides a challenge for new players as there is only one of each TM, which means they will have to use them wisely.

Earthquake is a strong move of Ground. It deals physical damage, has 100% accuracy, 10PP, and deals 100 damage. If used in Double Battle, this move will hit all Pokemon (including allies) unless the opposing Pokemon is of the Flying type, has the Levitate ability, or is carrying a hot air balloon. Pokemon that cannot learn Earthquake by leveling up will need to be taught through Brilliant diamond and Shining pearlsof TM26.

Wayward Cave

Before players can get TM26, they will need to have HM Strength and be able to use it outside of battle.

Once this is done, go to Oreburgh City and head towards 207th Street and up onto 206th Street. Cut the tree to the right and go up. Finally, the player will meet a Hiker trainer. Go to his left under the Bike Path. Two steps beside the lawn are The Secret Entrance to Wayward Cave.

Once inside the Wayward Cave, use HM Strength to push a rock out of the way. Go left and down the stairs into the basement. Getting the TM26 requires the trainer to navigate a maze, so follow these steps carefully.

  1. On this floor, the player can also catch the Gible. But for now, use the bike (Mach) to ride up the two mud slides. After that, cycle through some ramps to reach the area with Poke Ball items.
  2. Go left and jump off the cliff to get to the end of the ramp. Jump over this ramp again, but make sure the bike is in Acro Mode.
  3. Follow the path up and hop over another ramp in Mach Mode.
  4. Go up the stairs and pedal along the narrow bridge.
  5. Go all the way to the left and then north up another mud slide.
  6. Now go all the way to the right. Finally, the player will arrive in the northeast corner of the room. Do not jump over cliffs to get Poke Ball items; this is not TM26.
  7. Skip this entry for now and go around the rocks to get to another ramp. Following this ramp will allow the player to go up a series of stairs.
  8. Continue south along this path and the last room will be on the right.
  9. TM26 Earthquake right near the entrance of the new room. If the player having trouble choosing TM, stand on the left of the Poke Ball and collect it from there.

Exchange battle points (BP)

Players can get another TM26 if they save enough Battle Points at Battle Park. This area will not be available until the Elite Four are defeated and National Dex unlocked.

BP can also be quite tedious to obtain as players will need to take on the Battle Tower Knockout Challenge and win consecutive battles. At Battle Park, TM26 can be exchanged for 80BP.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl now available on Nintendo Switch.
