Gran Turismo 7 It’s only a few months away from the release date of March 4, 2022 and it promises to deliver the best simulation racing experience. On PlayStation 5, Gran Turismo 7 will push the hardware to its limits using real-time ray tracing, 3D spatial audio, 4K resolution, 60 fps, and HDR support. For racing game enthusiasts, it may be time to upgrade to a new steering wheel. Not coincidentally, PlayStation is showcasing the latest from Fanatec, which plans to release the Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel and pedals in March.
The official PlayStation Twitter account shared four images of the Gran Turismo DD Pro wheels recently, giving racing game fans a glimpse of Fanatec’s next product. Gran Turismo DD Pro wheel provides official license Gran Turismo wheel, designed in collaboration with Digital Polyphony. Wheels feature force feedback with up to 5 Nm of peak torque, standard tuning for beginners and advanced tuning menus for enthusiasts, four-way sticks and all inputs expected PlayStation button.
Fanatec’s Gran Turismo DD Pro wheels also come with a metal set of two pedals (throttle and muffler). Both pedals are built for both precision and durability using 12-bit sensing, as well as vertical and horizontal adjustments based on player preference. The brakes are also designed to provide a constant braking feel through drag. It’s a racing wheel made to racing game enthusiasts.
While Gran Turismo DD Pro is being marketed as a Gran Turismo accessory, it’s certainly not limited to that. It will not only be compatible with “all major racing games” via Fanatek’s SDK. In addition, it supports not only PS5 and PS4 but also PC. Apparently Sony doesn’t sponsor PC support. It is possible that the wheel also works on other platforms, but it is not officially announced by Fanatec
The showcase aimed to draw attention to the Gran Turismo DD Pro is open for pre-orders. Base version of Gran Turismo DD Pro racing wheels and pedals will cost $700 with delivery scheduled for March 2022. There are, however, replacement kits, like one that offers a torque boost from 5 Nm to 8 Nm for $850, or high-performance brake pedal assembly for $970. There’s even an $850 base package that promises delivery by Christmas.
A $700 race wheel isn’t something many people can afford or would want even if they could afford it. But for racing game fans who need experience Gran Turismo 7, as with many other racing games, as close to the real experience as possible, the Gran Turismo DD Pro setup will be available in time.
