PlayStation Network CEO fired after allegations of pedophilia

George Cacioppo, PlayStation Network’s Senior Vice President of Engineering, was fired by Sony after being accused of pedophilia by a group of amateurs.
By group People vs Predictions, Cacioppo, 64, was about to meet a 15-year-old boy for sex after exchanging messages on the social networking app Grindr. According to the group, Cacioppo used a pseudonym, “Jeff,” to fake his identity.
After this damned accusation of the People vs. Preds, Cnet reported that Cacioppo was fired by Sony. “We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated,” Sony said in an emailed statement.
Before leaving, Cacioppo worked at PlayStation for eight years as PlayStation Network’s senior vice president of engineering. Sony has yet to announce his replacement.

In the video of People v. Preds, arresting Cacioppo outside his home in a PlayStation 5 shirt, the cameraman announced that they would call the police, however, it is unclear whether law enforcement has officially been alerted. In their report, CNet said that “San Diego Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment on this matter.”
Talking to Kotaku, the People group v. Preds said the video was released to the public as “the police department doesn’t work with ‘Cyber groups’ like us. That’s when the internet took over. ”
