PlayStation lists 22 PS5 games released this year
Sony’s ’22 in ’22’ list features some of the most anticipated games coming to PS5 this year, including Horizon, Elden Ring, etc.
2021 is a very full year for Sony and PlayStation 5, as the console has seen many major titles released during the first year of the latest Sony console’s lifecycle. Amidst the arrival of highly anticipated new games from major brands like Call of Duty: Vanguard, and Breakthrough hits like Deathloop, the console’s first full year on the market was an eventful year. Now, heading into 2022, Sony has shown that there’s a lot ahead for the PlayStation 5 over the next 12 months.
The first year in the PS5’s lifecycle has seen many leading companies roll out next-gen experiences along with lots of announcements and revelations for the future of the console. Long-awaited games like Elden Ring saw a lot of new information being revealed, with From Software’s newest epic finally received a hard release date set for February. Popular games from PS4 like Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding also made the move to the next-gen console. Now, Sony has shared a list of games that are set to release in 2022 for the PS5, called “22 in ’22”
The long list of games set to release for the console over the course of the next year features some of the biggest names the platform has ever seen, with Sony alone. Forbidden Horizon in the West title in the list. Huge names like the ones mentioned before Elden Ring and Upcoming God of War: Ragnarok participation Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Dying Light 2 in the top 5 from game players.
The rest of the list is full of big names in the gaming industry that will release new games in 2022. Gran Turismo 7 and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin find their way into the publisher’s top 10 upcoming games, and the bottom half of the list features plenty of high-quality indie games set to release over the next year such as Salt and Sacrifice and Sifu. The full leaderboard is packed with stylish graphics and a trailer for each entry along with brief blurbs detailing upcoming games.
While 2021 sees plenty of PS5 games released, it’s also a continuation of Sony’s struggle to satisfy overwhelming demand for the latest PlayStation console. Console shortages limit PS5 sales since its launch in September 2020, as the panel is dealing with low supplies of semiconductors that have plagued the electronics industry. While many fans continue to have difficulty repurchasing PlayStation 5, Sony ensures that those with the console will have plenty of games to play throughout 2022.
