Players want a remake to add Killcam to Apex Legends
Some fans wanted the developers at Respawn Entertainment to add a killcam to Season 11 of Apex Legends, allowing players to see how they died.
After an exciting debut in early November, Season 11 of Apex Legends is now in rotation. Battle Royale has added many features with the new season, such as Storm Point map, CAR SMG, and Legend Ash. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from continuing to come up with more ways to improve the game. Among the suggestions from players, some wanted to add killcam to the title.
Killcam is part of many multiplayer shooters. For example, many games in NS Dut’s callseries y use this feature to allow players to see who eliminated them and in what way. Recently, fans of Apex Legends said that a similar replay system would be a positive addition to the game.
In a post on Reddit, a user named Kaythiest shared a potential idea for a new feature for Apex Legends. According to Reddit users, developers should consider adding a killcam. This feature will allow players to see how they died before returning to the lobby. Kaythiest even shared a screenshot from first person shooter game Titanfall 2, it was revealed that a killcam feature was present in the 2016 title. Like the previous game developed by Respawn, Reddit users argued that the developers were familiar with the concept.
In addition to recommending this feature, Kaythiest asked the rest of the Apex Legends community on Reddit to voice their opinions on the topic. Not surprisingly, many were quick to accept. With over 8,300 upvotes in just a few hours, many players loved the idea. Among the arguments in favor of adding a killcam, one user believes the feature will help identify and ban cheaters. They commented: “With a killcam, I realized whether I was an idiot or someone being duped.
While many fans liked the feature, one user pointed out that Rework, do it again have solved this problem in the past. In May of this year, design director at Respawn, Jason McCord, tweeted that the killcams would not be visible because they provide players with “cheat information”. Despite the comments from the developer, many fans still believe that this feature could work in the game. They argued that it should only be replayed after every member of the team had been eliminated. This way, no competitive advantage can be gained, but the player can still see how they died. Furthermore, others suggest that it should be ignored for those who don’t want to watch.
While fans acknowledged that incorporating a killcam into the game would be a challenge, some noted that another battle royale, Call of Duty: Warzone, already features. It would be interesting if Respawn reviewers added killcams to the game following recent community requests.
