Time passes and we all grow old, Pokemon the title seems to become easier to understand.
Thus, this forces players to get creative, create their own artificial rules, and increase the difficulty.
The most popular of these is known as the Nuzlocke Challenge, a strict set of principles that players must adhere to throughout their gameplay. These rules often include permadeath, if a Pokemon faints it will be considered dead and can only catch the first Pokemon in each area.
One player, Daniel Johnson, took this challenge even further, defeating the entire Shining Pearl with a single Bidoof and, to make things more difficult, banned himself from using any healing items. blood in battles.
Daniel shared his progress in UKDH Discord and, in his 70+ hours running, got his friendly Bidoof, affectionately named Masochist, reaching level 100, dying just 335 times in the process.
The death toll is not surprising given the fact that Daniel restricted himself to having no items in battle and only keeping items during the run, giving Bidoof an early Leftovers the chance.
Unsurprisingly, the biggest challenge of the run came with Elite 4 and Cynthia. He encountered the Champion for the first time on December 7 before battling her on December 13. This is where nearly 40% of Bidoof’s deaths occur, with another 20% being opponents. right before Elite 4.
After much trial and error, it was the moves of Curse, Amnesia, Ice Beam and Dig that helped Daniel win. Cynthia’s Garchomp, easily her greatest threat, was frozen after the first Ice Ray and the rest, it is said, is history. Shining pearls defeated with a single Bidoof.
