Picard Is Reportedly Getting 3 More Seasons

Featured Star Trek Picard

After premiering the first season early last year, Star Trek: Picard Season 2 is currently airing, with production of the next series currently underway. So far, we’ve got a first intro for a run that promises Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc is about to take on one of his oldest enemies – John de Lancie’s Q.

However, as with all modern TVs Walk, it received mixed reviews for how it portrayed the iconic character’s twilight years, Picard has clearly been a huge hit for the streaming platform now known as Paramount Plus. Sure, the latest information indicates that the studio has refreshed it through season 4. Robot giant Freakin is reporting that three more seasons are in development.

There have been rumors in the past that seasons 2 and 3 will be reversed, but this is the first time we’ve heard anything about the show’s fourth season. In fact, it’s worth noting that GFR doesn’t even know that season 4 will be the last, so it’s possible that it could be picked up to watch more later. For now, though, we’re hearing that there are still three more seasons to come.

That will provide plenty of time for Picard to mark all the fan-satisfying comebacks we’ve been waiting for. The series is taking a slow-record approach to bring back the cast Next generation. Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis have appeared in season 1, with the aforementioned de Lancie and Whoopi Goldberg confirmed for season 2. LeVar Burton teased he’s also in, so the likes of Michael Dorn, Wil Wheaton, and Gates McFadden will reprise their roles in seasons 3 and 4.

However, all that’s confirmed now is that we’ll have 10 more episodes when Star Trek: Picard season 2 lands on Paramount Plus in early 2020.
