Persona 6: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch release date
Persona 5 is one of the most critically acclaimed RPGs in history. That means Atlus has some big shoes to fill when it comes to Persona 6. This is a series that carries a lot of weight, and fans are eager to learn more about the sequels. So, does Persona 6 have a release date? Is there any word on whether it will launch for last-gen consoles like PS4 or Xbox One? What do we really know so far?
What is the Persona 6 release date?
While Persona 6 is all but inevitable, the gameplay has yet to be officially revealed. As such, it has no release date. As usual, we can expect to know more about when the game will be available once it is officially announced.
For now, we play the waiting game. Thankfully, at least we know that Atlus is considering the next numbering Persona game. Persona 6 was unofficially confirmed last July through a job posting. We haven’t heard much since, but there’s no reason to think the series will end anytime soon.
With that said, the next game may not look or feel like the previous ones. Much of the talent behind Persona 5 has moved on to Studio Zero, now working on a completely different game – Project Re: Fantasy. With so many years and so many new minds looking ahead, there’s no telling how the latest Persona game will play out.
Is Persona 6 coming to PS4, Xbox One or Switch?
It’s unlikely that Persona 6 will release for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Those are technically last-gen consoles, and many developers are moving to current-gen products like the PS5 and Line X / WILL. Besides, the game could be several years away from being released, putting it out of reach for last-gen hardware.
For the Switch, it’s the same thing. There’s no telling when the game will launch or whether the Switch will still be relevant at that point. With that said, Persona 5 never came to Switch, so we can expect the same from the next entry in the series.
