Pennsylvania soldier arrested for child pornography

HARRISBURG, Father. (WHTM) – A Pennsylvania State Police sergeant was arrested on various charges related to child pornography, including 21 counts of viewing or possessing child pornography.
Sean McKenzie was taken into custody Tuesday and has since been suspended without pay “pending the settlement of criminal charges against him.”
According to the State Police, the following charges have been filed against McKenzie:
- Certain cases of child sexual abuse / Photographing, video recording, computer depiction or video recording of sexual acts
- 21 counts of Child sexual abuse / Child pornography
- 10 counts of Child sexual abuse / Dissemination of photographs, video tapes, computer descriptions and films
- Two counts of using a means of communication
Local news outlets said investigators believe McKenzie placed a camera in her bathroom to record a young girl. A Dropbox was later discovered to have a connection to McKenzie, investigators first alerted, KDKA report.
Investigators said they also found photos and videos on McKenzie’s iPhone and on the thumb drive. McKenzie is said to have admitted to possessing and viewing pornography.
McKenzie was charged before the district judge, Rebecca Tydowki, and bail was set at $500,000. Court documents show that McKenzie was taken to Westmoreland County Jail and could not be released on bail.
A preliminary hearing has been set for March 9.
The official image of McKenzie was provided by the State Police, and the photograph was not immediately available. According to the State Police, McKenzie enlisted with the agency in June 2008.
