Peacemaker Video Stunt gives BTS a look at Emilia Harcourt’s bar fight

A short but sweet fight scene in Peacemaker gets viewers buzzing with applause, and the rehearsal video for that scene is fascinating.

Peacemaker Jennifer Holland Emilia Harcourt

The new one People of Peace series about HBO Max is a lot of things. It was the vehicle for John Cena to show off his comedic stunts. It’s a super violent sequel to Suicide Squad with (mostly) a brand new cast. However, it’s also an excuse to see Jennifer Holland star in the role of eternal ARGUS agent Emilia Harcourt, and it’s a very special thing to have.

When People of Peace premiered with the first 3 episodes Last week, audiences basically had a course on all these new and returning characters. From the stern to misguided Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji) to the nervously enthusiastic Adebayo (Danielle Brooks), HBO Max The series is full of bizarre and fascinating characters just waiting for their time to shine. Holland’s Harcourt had a special opportunity early on in that respect thanks to its rather unrelenting bar fight against a lost dudebro, and it’s satisfying to watch for any reason.

Holland is clearly acutely aware of how short but entertaining the brawl can be, so she posted a behind-the-scenes clip of the original rehearsal for the scene, presumably to show that The filming was equally enjoyable. Covered up by the current and very disappointing cyberpunk astigmatism that everyone is living now, she and stunt artist Spencer Thomas played a rough beatdown version without all the pizzazz being add to the final product and the two seem to be having their time of life.

“I’m definitely smiling underneath this mask,” Holland said in the caption. “I had a blast with this stunt team!” She also called her appreciation for her double stunt roleYulia, who can be heard in the clip, tells her to “shoot it” and “always reminds me to be aggressive AF,” as Holland put it. It’s fairly easy to see Yulia’s influence on the Netherlands in the final product, as the ending scene certainly elevates the brutal element compared to this rehearsal.

People of Peace Cena star as a rather disoriented legitimacy vigilante who finds himself questioning his own beliefs in the wake of the events of Suicide Squad. Perhaps with his team, including Holland’s Harcourt, he can finally find the answer he’s been looking for. But first, he must deal with numerous new threats under the supervision of the Iwuji Slayer, and only time will tell if he and his ragtag group of people who occasionally know they are do have enough confidence to complete it or not. Naturally, as yet another James Gunn production, this movie is wild, unchanging, and utterly captivating.

Holland’s video is just one more sign of how hilarious the cast is People of Peace seems to have been behind the scenes. Hopefully the audience enthusiasm matches the enthusiasm of the actors and another season is ordered. Hitherto, People of Peace clearly beat Marvel in the eyes of many, so that’s a good start. At the very least, watch the rehearsals for that legendary opening credits sequence?
