This is because banks process all payments in advance before closing for a long weekend.
The Department for Works and Pensions has confirmed the payment date you can expect for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend.
If your payment date falls on Thursday 2nd June or Friday 3rd June, you will likely receive your money on Wednesday 1st June as both days are public holidays.
Why are we having a bank holiday for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee?
This year at the end of May Holidaywhich normally takes place on the last weekend in May, has been postponed to fall alongside the extra bank holiday for Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign.
The bank holiday was granted by the government to allow the UK to celebrate this event.
Queen Elizabeth II is the only British monarch in history to have reached this milestone.

The Department for Work and Pensions has not yet confirmed the exact benefit payment dates around these bank holidays.
