Paul Austin and Tenisha Tate-Austin sue appraisers they allege undervalued their home because they are black

Austin and his wife, Tenisha Tate-Austin decided to issue a different opinion three weeks later, they said in a lawsuit filed Thursday in federal court in San Francisco. This time, they enlisted the help of their white friend, Jan, who agreed to pose as the landlord for another appraiser, the lawsuit alleges. Austins whitewash their homes by erasing photos of their family and peeling off the walls of their African-themed artwork. Jan has also helped on this front, by staging photos of her family, the lawsuit states.
