DC fans are definitely waiting for the upcoming adventure of Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry aka the superhero Aquaman in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. But beyond that, it was the discovery of so many Easter eggs in the movie that they were eagerly anticipating. Who is Patrick Wilson? return to the DCEU as King Orm (Arthur’s Atlantean half-brother), has confirmed that there will be “a lot” of subtle references hidden in plain sight for die-hard DC fans.

Recently in a conversation with Collider, Wilson’s “crazy” stunts and the VFX techniques they used in the film. While the veteran actor remains attentive to any details about the film’s central plot, he has revealed a rather interesting detail. Not only did he make sure that Wan included many easter eggs in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but he also confirmed the flashy appearance of a character that DC comics fans will instantly recognize.

“And then the plot… obviously won’t get into that. But James likes to pick and choose from his own mind and the comics and how we put in certain elements. Small moments that even… I don’t know, pick one of the gladiator series. There is an octopus playing the drums. Now comic book lovers will go, “Um, that’s Topo. Come on you. That’s who it is.” So the little moments; Surely they will have much more than that. “

In the DC comics, there are three versions of Topo, an octopus possessing human-like intelligence. While all three have occasionally aided Aquaman and other superheroes in their quests, only the first two appear as loyal friends of the superhero. The original Topo was exceptionally intelligent and known for his ability to play multiple instruments at once.

While fans should really expect to find more DC references in the Aquaman 2, what they’re expecting is that James Wan is hiding another surprise easter egg in the sequel. In 2018 Aquaman, The director sneaks in a smart callback The Conjuring movie. At the beginning of the film, when the camera pans to capture the sprawling piles of garbage on the ocean floor, it focuses on a moment Horror doll looks very familiar- Annabellesomething only eagle-eyed fans will notice.

For Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, we will have to wait for its release on December 16, 2022, to check out the quirky Easter eggs James Wan has in the fan shop this time around.
