When Mojang Studios first announced its ambitious new product Minecraft the update, called Caves and Cliffs, back in 2020, the developer originally wanted it to come out as a single update. However, due to the huge scope of the update, the developer decided to release it in two separate halves. Mojang Studios released first half of the update on June 8 of this year, and it incorporated a bunch of new blocks, items, and wildlife into the game. And just today, the developer dropped the second half of an update, called Update 1.18 Caves and Cliffs. Part two, which promises to significantly raise standards Minecraft experience.

For some, the new cave biome is the most significant addition made in the new update. These biomes, including Dripstone Caves and Lush Caves, serve to add more visual diversity to a game that’s been around for more than a decade. Additionally, the update changes quite a bit regarding the procedural generation of the world, allowing for the creation of more interesting biome configurations, “such as a hilltop desert.” The update also greatly expands the vertical space of the world, allowing for the creation of much higher mountains and deeper exploration than was possible before.

Anything else?

Of course, the second Caves and Cliffs update makes a few more additions and changes, including the usual bug fixes, Minecraft Fans can read more about here. In addition, Mojang Studios uploaded a new trailer for Minecraft The YouTube channel coincides with the release of the update. While this cinematic trailer contains no gameplay footage, it does keep players excited about the update thanks to its constantly changing scenery and energetic pace. In the end, though, nothing will give players a better feel for everything the new update has to offer than trying it out for themselves. And really dedicated Minecraft players certainly did.
