Overwatch Moira and Reinhardt Buff Complaints Resolved by Blizzard
Following a certain number of impressive upgrades made to Overwatch heroes Moira and Reinhardt, Blizzard is addressing complaints from the community.
Overwatch is currently undergoing a major transition. Overwatch 2 is currently under development and is taking longer than expected. The remaining developers on Overwatch torn between focusing attention on online multiplayer FPS and balancing testing for the new game, and all in preparation for Overwatch to decelerate and finally close. Two recent balance changes capture the difficult position Blizzard is in right now, with developers responding to complaints about summoner spells being made for Moira and Reinhardt.
The two summoner spells mentioned seem small, but are in fact significant power conversion adjustments. The Moira Charm adjusted her Fade so it can reach a possibly greater height. Summoner spell Reinhardt modifies his ultimate Earthshaker, increasing damage by 200 if it hits within 1.75 meters of impact. As for Moira, she can now reach areas that were previously inaccessible on almost any map, and also quickly. As for Reinhardt, he can take down some champions with the right placement.
Complaints regarding these changes have been persistent since the patch. In part, it was frustration after another Hanzo-related bug was fixed in the patch, which was redirected to these new changes. Music bar Overwatch players believe they made both Moira and Reinhardt too powerful, dramatically changing Overwatchcurrent meta of. The fact that updates are rare and meta changes have been slow so far only adds to the problem.
Blizzard still communicates even when Overwatchthe development of the downward development, although. It has seen criticism surrounding the changes and released a statement on Blizzard’s official forums. Blizzard stated that they knew “some of these changes would spur a lot of conversation,” and further confirmed that it knew it would “shake up the meta a bit.” Blizzard said it is monitoring the situation and forwarding feedback to Overwatch team. There is no explanation for the changes or confirmation of plans for any adjustments, at this time.
If Blizzard knew that these changes would rock the meta and cause controversy, then Blizzard fans would wonder why they chose to implement these summoner spells. Again, the answer may be tied to the complex state of Overwatch. The changes, however controversial, draw attention to Overwatch, and also check The fast-paced gameplay of Overwatch 2 which Blizzard seems to be targeting.
It will be interesting to see where Snow storm next with the remaining time it has with Overwatch. It could certainly listen to player feedback and make adjustments to nerf Moira and Reinhardt again, or it could rely on the new and changed meta, buffing up other characters. the same, similar. If Overwatch will only be around for another year or two, why not have fun with the rest of the time?
