Ousted Florida Democrat slams AOC on Cuba statement

A recently-ousted Home Democrat is slamming Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over her stance on the US’ Cuba embargo amid ongoing protests within the Communist dictatorship.

Former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, who misplaced in November to Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.) in a intently watched race, tweeted Thursday that Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) protection of lifting what she referred to as an “absurdly merciless” embargo was “not right.”

AOC wrote in her assertion Thursday that, “We’re seeing Cubans stand up and protest for his or her rights like by no means earlier than. We stand in solidarity with them, and we condemn the anti-democratic actions led by President Diaz-Canel.

The Cuban individuals started taking to the streets final weekend in protest of the nation’s meals shortages and excessive costs amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Diaz-Canel has blamed the US government and Cuban People for stoking the unrest and has referred to as on his supporters to combat again within the streets.

Within the US, President Biden faces a rising refrain of lawmakers pressuring him to intervene.
