Opinion | Some welcome pushback for Russian and Chinese assaults on international order

The Wall Avenue Journal noted, “Within the steadiness of energy between the world’s two largest economies, the U.S. and China, the world’s third-largest financial system, Japan, is vital.” And retired U.S. Adm. James Stavridis, former supreme allied commander of NATO, says that “over time” the U.S. coverage is to confront China with a “world maritime coalition” that features, along with Japan, “Australia, New Zealand, India, South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.”
