One-time child actress Jonshel Alexander, who starred in ‘Beasts Of The Southern Wild’, killed at 22 [CONDOLENCES]

Former child star Jonshel Alexander tragically passed away in her hometown Louisiana.

Back in early 2012, Southern wild animals premiere in theaters. The drama revolves around a community deep in the backcountry Louisiana bayou and it specifically focuses on the stars Quvenzhané Wallis and Dwight Henry. Remarkable, Quvenzhané Wallis made history with her role, earning her the title of the youngest person to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category.

Another person who contributed to the hit movie is Jonshel Alexander, who starred as Joy Strong when she was 12 years old. Her character is one of the supporting characters who befriends Quvenzhané Wallis‘Hushpuppy character.

However, tragedy has just struck, leading to the death of a one-time child star at the age of 22. Last Saturday night (November 26), Jonshel Alexander and a man she was traveling with was shot inside a car New Orleans‘Ward 7. While the man survived and was able to drive himself to the hospital, Jonshel Alexander presumed dead at the scene.

Jonshel survived by her mother, Shelly Alexander, and one-year-old daughter. About Jonshel, Shelly Alexander stated:

“She gave life to everything. Jonshel is hot-tempered, hot-tempered, spoiled. It’s her way or no way. Jonshel was like, “That would be me.”

Quvenzhané Wallis also acknowledged the tragedy on Instagram by posting a photo of herself with Jonshel Alexander, note:

“When filming, we were always together and I wish I could go back in time so I could see you again. I love you. You will be missed by a lot of people. ”
