Footage circulating on social media seems to show Fan’s hand in contact with the marker, but in an odd situation, it was Canadian skater Florence Brunelle who was eliminated from the race.

After the chaos on the Beijing track, Olympic fans quickly returned to the scene.

“Checking the footage… it was the Chinese opponent who marked Alyson Charles’s path, not Florence… she really didn’t touch it in any way… Fan’s arm on the side before obstructing Florence then touching the marker with her hand then flicking it,” Twitter user Glen Molloy said.
