Olivia Wilde says she didn’t cheat on Jason Sudekis with Harry Styles

Actress-director Olivia Wilde’s romance with singer Harry Styles – the star of her new film don’t worry darling– was dissected millions of times.

But in a new interview with vanity fairWilde wants to make one thing very clear: she was completely separated from her fiancé Jason Sudeikis when she first became involved with the limp-haired former boy band heartthrob.

“The idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely wrong,” she told the magazine.

“Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any relationship that ends, it doesn’t end overnight. Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road and we officially ended the relationship at the beginning of the pandemic.

“We raised two children during lockdown so we were parents together during that time. When it became clear that living together was no longer beneficial for the children, it became a responsibility Not, because as friends living in different houses we could be better parents.”

Wilde and Sudeikis announced in November 2020 that they had split. Rumors that she was dating Styles surfaced in January 2021, but it wasn’t publicly acknowledged until almost a year later.

Sudeikis infamously had custody papers served to Wilde while she was on stage at CinemaCon. While he denies knowing the timing, she believes this was done to humiliate her.

“So many people were shocked on my behalf,” she said vanity fair. “Unfortunately, I wasn’t that shocked. There’s a reason I didn’t stay in this relationship. Unfortunately, that was consistent with my experience of the relationship. So I was probably the least shocked. But I was also deeply saddened by it – and disturbed in many ways.

“I know it took an extraordinary amount of energy [for the server] to come into this room. It took a tremendous amount of foresight. And I’m telling you, there are so many other ways to do this. I’m not someone who lives in secret. If this experience hadn’t been public, I would never have spoken about it because I never wanted my children to know about it. Unfortunately, they will know that happened.”

Incredibly, Wilde’s relationship with Styles and the bad blood between her and Sudeikis seems almost tame compared to the drama that swirls around don’t worry darling in recent weeks – from conflicting reports of how Shia LaBoeuf was kicked out of the film and replaced by Styles, to Florence Pugh’s apparent war with Wilde and the bizarre episode at the Venice Film Festival in which Styles was accused of being Chris Pine (He doesn’t say Pine).
