HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) – A Hillsboro man has been stopped for allegedly plotting a mass shooting that targeted female students at an unnamed Ohio university, according to the Department of Justice. USA.

Authorities said Tres Genco, 21, was arrested Wednesday by federal agents for allegedly conspiring to commit a hate crime, as well as illegally possessing a machine gun.

According to the indictment, Genco conducted an internet search of police scanner codes for Columbus police and “college police,” although no particular university was identified as Genco’s target. .

Genco identifies himself as a “cohabitant” or “involuntarily celibate,” according to court documents. The term applies to members of an online community of men who allegedly sought to brutally attack women because the men’s romantic interest had been denied.

The indictment states that Genco was a regular poster on a popular incel website.

In a post, authorities said Genco recounted loading orange juice into a water gun and spraying female college students – known as foids or femoids – in the faces. “I recommend it to all incels, extremely powerful action,” he posted.

Genco is no stranger to the criminal justice system; in October 2020, he was sentenced to 17 months in prison for making terroristic threats in Highland County.
