NYPD cops search for gunman who broke into Bronx apartments

An armed man broke into two Bronx apartments to rob victims while they were at home on Friday, police said.

The home invader began his violent act by knocking on the door of an 89-year-old man near Van Cortlandt Park around 10:15 a.m., police said.

When the man answered, the suspect entered the apartment and stole jewelry and a bicycle, according to the NYPD.

Security footage from the building’s elevator shows the muscular bully pulling his ill-fated wheels from the crime scene.

About five hours later, the suspect knocked on the door of a 42-year-old woman near West 232 Street and Tibbett Avenue in Kingsbridge, police said.

When she opened the door, he swung his gun and tried to get inside to steal $150, police said.

The suspect was still large as of early Saturday.
