Democratic Mayoral Candidate Eric Adams doubled down on his criticism of far-left politics in an interview aired Friday evening.
“This isn’t a socialist nation, let’s be clear on that,” Adams said during an appearance on HBO’s “Actual Time with Invoice Maher.”
“It is a nation that believes in giving individuals the alternatives [so] that they are going to be capable to succeed and excel on this nation,” he added.
The previous NYPD Captain has found himself at odds with town’s left-wing after saying in a marketing campaign speech in Queens that he’s operating towards the socialist “motion” throughout the nation, particularly naming the Democratic Socialists of America.
“I’m not operating towards candidates. I’m operating towards a motion. All throughout the nation, the DSA socialists are mobilizing to cease Eric Adams,” he had advised the gang.

Adams touted the endorsements he obtained from each George Floyd’s brother, Terrence Floyd, and the household of slain NYPD officer Wenjian Liu, who was shot and killed alongside his cop associate in a Brooklyn ambush in 2014.
“I used to be endorsed by somebody who misplaced a member of the family to police misconduct and I used to be endorsed by the members of the family of somebody [who] was killed within the line of responsibility,” Adams advised Maher.
Adams vowed to “rebuild that belief” between cops and the communities they serve, and stated that, if elected, he would “anticipate much more from my cops.”
