Graphics fidelity is an important part of AAA gaming, especially in this modern era. While much of that depends on the skill of the developer and the hardware of the user to run it, some of it comes from algorithmic upgrades, such as Deep Learning Super Sampling by Nvidia or AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution. Although the “blue team” is rumored to be preparing for RTX 4000 series GPUs, the company is also devoting a lot of resources to its DLSS machine learning to improve video game visuals, with the tech giant announcing the launch of the latest version of the technology.

According to a recent report, Nvidia has now released DLSS 2.3, with a company marketing video providing some details on how it improved in the previous iteration. According to Bryan Catanzaro, Vice President of Applied Deep Learning Research, advanced AI is “getting smarter by the day.” Then a short video compares some of the current DLSS running games with the newer version, with enlarged segments detailing some of the improvements that have been made. Such quality upgrades are particularly noticeable in game elements rendered at a distance, showing that version 2.3 has significantly reduced flickering and impact aspects.

The report from Tom’s Hardware goes on to say that DLSS 2.3 will be coming to some games, fifteen games in total, such as Doom Eternal, GTA trilogy, Deathloop, and Crysis 3 Remastered. On top of that, some titles already have the latest versions released, such as Cyberpunk 2077, and Rise of the Tomb Raider which was recently promised with DLSS. It has also been claimed that the upscaling technology will also come to other games, largely thanks to easy-to-deploy plugins for such as Unity and Unreal, the two largest video game engines in the world used for gaming. Used to develop multiple AAAs and independent titles.

What does this match? Nvidia said earlier this year that DLSS will have more games. This algorithmic upgrade, which allows games to essentially run at higher resolutions through redrawing pixels as if it were working natively, is rapidly becoming the industry standard, especially is for mainstream games.

DLSS is also accused of making games like GTA trilogy run faster, which means it improves the performance and clarity of graphics equally. The biggest downside of Upgrade AI is that it is only compatible with Nvidia The RTX graphics card, unlike AMD’s equivalent, is open source, but it still seems to be the most powerful and popular choice.
