NiKo says new AWPer will ‘help’ [G2] Take the next step’

Current G2 Esports CS GO The players are about to compete in their final tournament together at the BLAST Premier World Final this week. Not only will the season be over, but roster changes will inevitably take place for the team.

The Franco-Balkan project has been a solid contender for most of the year but hasn’t won any titles. G2 came close and had a number of chances, however, most notably at the IEM Cologne in July and the PGL Stockholm Major in November, losing to Natus Vincere in the grand final both times.

In the following weeks CS GO Young master, there has been speculation regarding G2 looking for a dedicated AWPer. The sniper role was taken over by François “AmaNEk” Delaunay after being replaced by Kenny “kennyS” Schrub in March, but he has struggled multiple times in the face of some of the world’s professionals. French website report On December 10, G2 completed the signing of Na’Vi Junior star Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, and AmaNEk is the player most likely to leave the active roster.

Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, the main star of G2 since he joined the organization in October 2020, emphasized the importance of a new AWPer for the team in a interview with HLTV ahead of G2’s debut at the BLAST Premier World Final tomorrow against Ninjas in Pajamas at 6:30am CT.

“[AWPers] I would say the most impactful, so having a strong AWPer is something we miss out on,” said NiKo. “I don’t want to blame AmaNEk or anything, he’s just taking on the role because he has to, but when we’re up against good AWPers, we’re going to have a little bit of a tough time because they have more experienced and you need someone to stop those AWPers. Bringing AWPer into next year will help us take the next step. If we have an AWPer that does a good job and puts out good numbers along with the numbers huNter- and I are also putting out, I think we’ll become a very strong and consistent team. ”

It looks like the arrival of a new AD carry won’t be the only change to G2. NiKo told HLTV that the organization is also arranging a head coach position. This position has been vacant since November 16 when Damien “maLeK” Marcel breaks up with G2.

The organization should publish CS GO lineup for next year at the end of 2021, according to NiKo. NiKo says new AWPer will ‘help’ [G2] Take the next step’
