NieR Automata Creator Yoko Taro Confirms 2 Billion KFC Likes
A strange tweet was shared this week and caught the attention of NieR Automata creator Yoko Taro, here’s what happened.
The Spanish CM for KFC shared on Twitter an eerie photo of a 2B cosplayer sitting at a KFC restaurant, possibly in Russia. If you reverse the image search the photo looks like it’s been around for quite some time and used for the meme. However, now it’s humming again.
Yoko Taro is known for trolling on Twitter, like how he mentioned that NieR The series ended last December. He also frequently tweets about what he has for dnner, or his impressions of what he’s been up to lately and interacting with fans. So, naturally, Yoko Taro saw that tweet from KFC.

Yoko Taro confirms that 2B likes KFC
Interestingly, Yoko Taro eventually retweeted KFC to confirm that the photo was “real”. Now you can consider it canon that Yorha No. 2 Type B alias 2B likes to eat some KFC.
As of 2020, Yoko Taro has worked on several games. One of these games is Card voice, was released recently. Yoko Taro also wants to write for Final Fantasy XVI, but was shot down by YoshiP.
In the same news, Yoko Taro also praised New Year’s Eve Project, Upcoming Action RPG game developed by Korean studio Shift Up.
Now, NieR The series is continuing most notable with NieR Reincarnation on mobile phones. The game has a whole team of scripts involved. The series has Japanese-exclusive content like YorHa Girls stage plays. Yoko Taro also never said if one of the games he was working on was NieR related or not, so it could be a NieR coming soon. And Yoko Taro’s producer Yosuke Saito has once again confirmed that it will be is working on several projects in his New Year 2022 message.
An autobiographical manga about the life of Yoko Taro is also published by Cygames in 2021. The series focuses on his beginnings in the gaming industry.
Last but not least, January 7th is also 2B’s birthday, and perhaps why this meme has surfaced.
