NFL Thanksgiving Schedule: Raiders-Cowboys, Bills-Saints and NFC North Show on Tap

You can’t really enjoy Thanksgiving if the NFL isn’t on at least one screen in your home, as the two come together for one of the best annual traditions around. In 2021, the world will be seen as a trilogy of games as the turkey is carved and enjoyed in the presence of family and friends. Led by an NFC North clash that will start the afternoon with a bang, followed by two skirmishes that are supposed to keep the fireworks going into the evening.

You won’t want to miss a moment of the action. Here are the previews of the three games:

Bear in Lion (Thursday, November 25 at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX)

Beyond the four-year period in the early 1940s, NFL has hosted the annual Thanksgiving Day games since 1920. The Lions are Thanksgiving Day’s most traditionally rich team and an annual participant since 1934. Last year’s Thanksgiving Day game was a disappointment for Detroit fans, like Deshaun Watson and Texans go to victory 41-25. It is likely that neither of the four quarterbacks that started in that game will return to their respective teams this season: Matthew Stafford was traded with Rams during the break, and Watson is facing legal troubles.

The Lions’ attack has changed significantly since the 2020 season ended. Stafford was out and Jared Goff in. Kenny Golladay and basically every other wide receiver on last season’s roster has moved on. The attack line will be integrated with the 7 . overall selection Penei Sewell into the program.

Chicago ended the 2020 season with an 8-8 record. Former No. 2 overall selection Mitchell Trubisky left to Buffalo in free agency, leading to the signing Andy Dalton. Shortly after making a social media post declaring Dalton a ‘QB1’, the Bears have been active in development for 2021 NFL Drafts to choose Ohio State’s quarterback Justin Fields. It remains to be seen how the original Fields take over the field for the NFC North franchise, but it will be one of the biggest storylines leading up to the season. Maybe he will be the starter for this match.

The bears last appeared on Thanksgiving Day 2019 when they beat Detroit, 24-20. Chicago played 36 games on Thanksgiving Day – the third most in league history – setting a 19-15-2 record in those chances.

Raiders in Cowboys (Thursday, November 25 at 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS)

The Cowboys became the second regular Thanksgiving Day entrant starting in 1966. All but two Thanksgivings have included games featuring both Lions and Cowboys since Dallas was included.

The Raiders will make their first Thanksgiving appearance since 2013. This will be their first since moving to Las Vegas. The group profiled 3-4 of the seven appearances before Thanksgiving Day. Las Vegas has made significant changes to the offensive and defensive lines of this season. Run back Kenyan Drake has been added to the group of skill players with features Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller. Yannick Ngakoue Defense has been added to enhance the unit’s peak pass production. Las Vegas finished 8-8 in 2020 and didn’t make it to the knockout stages.

Dallas ‘the 2020 season has been sent into a spiral as the quarterback Dak Prescott injured at the end of the season. Defensive output was unacceptable and that led to a change in dispatchers. Prior to Eagle Head coach Dan Quinn is the new leader of the defence, which has added Penn State’s defenders Micah Parsons 12th place overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Offense will be responded to quickly with a healthy line of attack and Prescott. Second year wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are on track for a remarkable season before midfield instability is established.

Receipt in Saints (Thursday, November 25 at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC)

The NFL added a primetime game to the Thanksgiving Day schedule in 2006. There’s been a Thanksgiving Day primetime game every year since 2006 until the Steelers-Ravens game was postponed during the big time. COVID-19 outbreak last year.

Buffalo was only eliminated two years after its Thanksgiving Day 26-15 win over the Cowboys. The new brand only appeared nine times on Thanksgiving Day and has an even record of 4-4-1. Midfielder Josh Allen produced an MVP-caliber season before his Bills failed in the AFC Championship against Kansas City. General Manager Brandon Beane has built one of the most talented rosters in the league and they’ll be back Super Bowl litigation.

The Saints have played on Thanksgiving Day only three times but most recently in 2019 when they beat the Falcons. In fact, New Orleans is a perfect 3-0 win all the time on Thanksgiving. The team will have a new midfielder starting for the first time since 2006 when Drew Brees signed with the free agency. Brees announced his retirement this season after the Saints hit 12 wins in the 2020 regular season and advanced to the NFC Split against the eventual Super Bowl champions. James Winston and Taysom Hill are competing to replace Brees as starter.
