New York City Museum of Modern Art MoMA evacuated after the stabbing left two people injured

The Museum of Modern Art in New York City was evacuated Saturday after police said two people were injured in a stabbing.

The New York City Police Department told The Daily Beast that two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, which occurred around 4 p.m. They were taken to a local hospital where they remain in stable condition. Many museum visitors were also forced to evacuate the museum in downtown Manhattan, and police asked all residents to avoid the area.

“The incident is under investigation and we do not yet know the relationship of the two individuals to the museum,” a police spokesman added. Videos on social media showed chaos outside the MoMA, where people were seen running into the snowy streets.
