New world solves post-update stability issues and criticizes PTR

After Yesterday’s big update, performance and stability issues caused the Amazon team to crash New world‘NS server to fix to solve these problems. They also temporarily disabled the ability to collect some elemental creatures because they were dropping more resources than intended. They have also taken the time to address some of the player frustrations associated with the updates.

As with any game, there are some bugs that come up with updates, but with New World, the community’s frustration with the amount of crashes and pacing is understandable. Some members have had issues with balance changes, including criticism of using PTR as a “hype server”.

Community Manager NW_Mugsy took the time to reply says “PTR is a hugely important opportunity for us to gather feedback and report flaws. I know it can feel like that if you don’t see that feedback is implemented in the next release it will be ignored but that’s not the case”. Feedback and data take time to figure out and Deploy, which is fair to remind the community.

Yet, given how? New worldrelease is gone, It’s also understandable to be disappointed. NW_Mugsy addressed this in the same thread, noting that they’re not using PTR as a “hype server” but rather as a way to gather feedback and figure out the best way to move on, while still acknowledge the disappointment of both sides. The development team wants everyone to be able to join and enjoy their games, but you can only push updates and fixes after they’ve been developed and thoroughly tested. With the release to date, a little more thorough testing and caution can be expected. It looks like the team may be trying to find the sweet spot between fixing and sustaining the game and reducing frustration.
