New world server merge in progress while wealth transfer is disabled… Again

New world server transfer

Okay, New World gang, we have bad news and potentially good news – depending on your personal views. Both are predictable at this point, so we’ll just look at the bad news first and get over it. Transfers are temporarily disabled… again. Again, an exploit is the culprit. According to a recent forum post, a “possibility of copy mining” has been reported on forums and social media. To investigate the aforementioned mining, the developers decided to disable all wealth transfer systems – meaning that players are currently unable to deposit currency or use guild coffers, trading stations or even simple transaction. Once they’ve investigated the issue, the developers will turn everything back on.

That said, if you are one of those who are abusing the mentioned exploit, you will probably want to prepare yourself. Amazon will take action – though, they don’t say what that action might be.

Another bit of news is Amazon working on unified server. They are currently on the same list to fix the “ghost contract” issue that prevented some players from being able to use their transfer tokens and investigate the desired, and as a result, possibility of roaming. (If the latter is something you’re interested in, you’ll need it let them know on a specific forum thread.)

Before the actual server consolidation can happen, Amazon has stated that it needs to do a few things. Specifically, they needed to run some more technology tests, as the closed beta tests caused issues that appear to have been resolved. They also need to be careful when deciding which server to merge, as it will affect the PvP of the whole faction. Unfortunately, the merged worlds won’t keep their territories – as all of that has already been declared where they’re going. However, since the goal is to solve the stagnation problem on the server in question, it might be worth it.

Speaking of stagnation, Amazon has come up with something to help remedy that by encouraging players to join less dominant factions. Factions that are less popular on a server will gain more influence to give them a chance to declare war. In addition, players will not be allowed to switch sides to the more dominant side. And to make it easier for players to switch to the less popular faction, they’re halving the time between factions.
